Yes, we still have ’em on vinyl!

I love the smell of baking ingredients in the morning: vanilla, cinnamon, ground cloves, yum! The end result is almost secondary; what I love is time to work undisturbed, relaxed, all senses alert, with the radio or the CD player playing quietly in the background. Sunday mornings, I bake with Kenny Dashow, host of Q104.3’s “Breakfast With the Beatles.” This guy is funny, he knows all the players, he’s interested in everything. Great companion from 8-10am and during all his other shifts on “the Q.”

I love to cook to classic rock (my neighbors who can see into my kitchen from theirs must just die laughing at my dance moves), but you’ll also hear WQXR, the Chieftains, “O Brother Where Art Thou?” and Tony Bennett’s first “Duets” album coming from my kitchen. As good food is the body’s sustenance, good music is the soul’s.
